WARRENVILLE, Ill. (March 23, 2009) – Navistar, Inc. (NYSE: NAV) the manufacturer of International® brand trucks, will contribute a new International LoneStar® tractor as the grand prize for Wayne Lowe, the 2008 Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Owner Operator of the Year.

Earlier this month, a panel of TCA judges selected Wayne Lowe of FFE Transportation Services as the Owner Operator of the Year from 31 applicants during TCA's Annual Convention at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Lowe was selected for his excellent driving safety record and unblemished work history as well as his community and industry involvement.

Lowe will receive his International LoneStar tractor at a luncheon in his honor on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at FFE located at 3400 Stonewell in Lancaster, Texas. The International LoneStar is a certified SmartWay tractor, part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay program that certifies trucks that significantly reduce fuel use and emissions. The LoneStar is loaded with a Cummins ISX-550 HP engine, an 18-speed manual Fuller Eaton Roadranger transmission, and Goodyear G305 Fuel Max radial truck tires—all donated by the equipment manufacturers.

“Navistar is a proud supporter of the Truckload Carriers Association and we are thrilled to help honor Wayne Lowe with a new International LoneStar tractor,” said Marty Gottner, Navistar vice president, national accounts. “Since 1967, Wayne Lowe has been associated with FFE Transportation Services, Inc., and he has logged more than 4.5 million accident-free miles throughout his career. We could not be happier with his selection as TCA’s Owner Operator of the Year.”

"TCA's Owner Operator of the Year contest pays tribute to owner operators who can do three things better than others: run a successful business, maintain an outstanding safety record on the highways, and aid the trucking industry's efforts to enhance the public image of trucks and truck driving.” said Chris Burruss, TCA's president.

“It means the world to receive this honor, and I’m grateful to TCA for selecting me,” said Wayne Lowe. “My knees literally went to the floor when I won—I guess it really hasn’t sunk in yet. The LoneStar is a real head turner and I cannot wait to start taking it out on the road.”

“Wayne Lowe will love his new LoneStar,” said Russ Trimble, dealer principal of Southwest International Truck. “We know this award is the thrill of a lifetime for Wayne and his family and we are pleased be a part of it.”
