Navistar Becomes First OEM to Offer Qualcomm MCP100 Through Its Dealer Channel
Gives Navistar Customers One-Stop Shopping at International Dealers

WARRENVILLE, ILL. (July 29, 2009) – As part of a strategic alliance first announced last September, Qualcomm’s Mobile Computing Platform 100 Series (MCP100) is now available to customers through Navistar’s International® Truck dealers.

“We’re excited to be the first OEM to offer Qualcomm’s MCP100 through our dealer channel,” said Ramin Younessi, group vice president, product development and business strategy for Navistar. “We strive to offer products of distinction and we feel Qualcomm’s Mobile Computing Platform Series is best in class. Selling this product and associated services through our dealers improves ease of business for our customers and extends this capability to fleets of any size. This is just the first step, but an important one, in our evolving telematics strategy with Qualcomm.”

Through this alliance, customers can take advantage of the added support they get through a combination of International’s dealers and Qualcomm’s industry-leading customer support network. In addition, customers can finance Qualcomm hardware through Navistar Financial Corporation along with their International truck purchase.

Transportation companies will now have expanded access to Qualcomm Transportation Services. Designed for the transportation and logistics industry, Qualcomm Transportation Services incorporate industry-specific capabilities and features that seamlessly integrate with back-office systems. The MCP100 features an integrated, color touch screen and remote control device with advanced in-cab, text-to-speech capability that improves safety and productivity by allowing drivers to listen and replay messages, eliminating the need to pull over and stop the vehicle to read a text message. A sampling of the available services, reports and alerts designed to optimize fleet operations include Automated Arrival and Departure, Hours of Service, Navigation, idle time, excess speeding, over RPM, vehicle faults and fuel tax reporting. MCP100 and Qualcomm Transportation Services are backed by Qualcomm's proven network reliability and redundancy, superior customer service and 24/7 support.

“It is more important than ever for fleets to improve their operational efficiency, many of our customers already use Qualcomm systems in managing their business operations,” said Dave Angotti, general manager, Bayshore International. “Making it easier for our customers to obtain and use Qualcomm’s MCP100 on their International trucks is very attractive to our customers.”
